Hamilton beats Rosberg to Monza pole position

Lewis Hamilton has claimed pole position for the Italian Grand Prix after he beat his team-mate by 0.478s seconds, whilst Vettel claimed third position ahead of his team-mate.  The British driver set a 1.21.135, and his time was almost half a second faster than Rosberg's, whilst Williams showed a stronger hand to claim fifth place on the grid, and Haas F1 made their first Q3 appearance ever. Story of the session As Q1 got under-way, Magnussen set the first marker with a 1.25.074, but was quickly beaten by the highly competitive Haas cars, with Gutierrez setting a 1.23.984.
