Massa: 'I'm proud of what I've achieved'

Italian Grand Prix – William's Felipe Massa, who announced his impending retirement from Formula 1 at the end of this year, says that he will look back with pride on his long F1 career. The Brazilian driver made a shock announcement on Thursday at Monza – he will retire from the sport at the end of this current season. The final race of the year, in Abu Dhabi, will be his 250th and final Grand Prix. Massa made his debut in 2002 with Sauber, replacing the outgoing Kimi Raikkonen. Hailed as fast but wild, he joined Ferrari as a test driver in 2003, with Sauber choosing to replace him with Heinz-Harald Frentzen due to his erratic behaviour.
