FIA confirms Spa track limit policing

The FIA will enforce track limits at the Belgian Grand Prix as rigorously as it has in the past, with drivers set to be punished if they gain an advantage from cutting corners. Although there has been no official notification of the matter yet, motor racing's governing body has confirmed that drivers will not be given free rein to do what they like for a quick lap time. This comes despite Formula 1's Strategy Group having last month voted in support of a move to abolish track limits policing because they believed the spectacle of cars running over kerbs would be a bigger benefit for the sport.
