Manor's Ocon reveals car number ahead of F1 debut

New Manor signing Esteban Ocon has selected #31 as his permanent car number ahead of his Formula 1 debut in Belgium later this month. From the beginning of 2014, all F1 drivers were asked to select a number that they would carry throughout their Formula 1 careers. The reigning champion, however, always has the option to use #1 on his car. Ocon, who won the GP3 championship in 2013, has selected #31, Manor has revealed on Instagram. Although the reason behind the Frenchman’s selection is unclear, he won the 2007 French Minime Championship with #31 adorning his kart.
