Jolyon Palmer: “It’s a disappointing result today”

Jolyon Palmer was dissatisfied with his result at the German Grand Prix after seeing his chance of points end early with a first lap clash with Felipe Massa on Sunday. The Renault Sport F1 driver made a good start to move up a handful of places, but locked his brakes into turn two that gave him a flat-spot on his tyres, and then misjudged his braking into the hairpin that saw him hit the rear of Massa’s Williams that damaged his front wing. As a result of the flat-spot, Palmer made an early trip to the pits for new tyres, while his damaged wing was replaced in his second visit to the pit lane, with the Briton ultimately finishing down in nineteenth position. “Everything was really...
