Jolyon Palmer says vibrations led to Massa clash

German Grand Prix – Renault's Jolyon Palmer says that vibrations from a flat spot caused him to collide with Williams' Felipe Massa on the opening lap. Palmer went into the German race with high hopes, having vied for points last week in Hungary. Outqualifying teammate Kevin Magnussen on Saturday, Palmer made a good start to the race to gain a handful of positions to be able to challenge the Williams of Felipe Massa. However, he locked up into Turn 2 and this resulted in a flat spot.
