Sainz handed three-place grid penalty

Carlos Sainz will lose three places on the grid of the German Grand Prix after being handed a penalty for impeding Felipe Massa. Massa found Sainz going slowly on track as he approached Turn 2 during Q2, and although the Toro Rosso driver tried to move out of the way, the Brazilian lost time. Sainz and Massa were summoned by the stewards, and the Spaniard was deemed to have impeded his rival. Sainz, who had qualified in 13th, will drop to 16th on the grid. The Toro Rosso driver has also been awarded two penalty points for a total of four over the last 12 months.
