Rosberg stays ahead in second session
Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes Nico Rosberg maintained his advantage as he led the way during the second practice session for the German Grand Prix. Rosberg, on the Super Soft tyres, registered a time of 1:15.614, a tenth slower than his effort from the morning, to finish 0.394s up on Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Mercedes’ rivals made progress compared to their earlier classifications, as Sebastian Vettel was third, 0.594s behind Rosberg, with Max Verstappen fourth. Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Räikkönen were the only other drivers to lap within a second of Rosberg’s best time, as they secured fifth and sixth respectively.
