Palmer “gutted” after missing out on maiden points

Hungarian Grand Prix – Jolyon Palmer is “gutted” on missing out on scoring his first Formula One career points at the Hungaroring. Renault showed surprisingly strong pace in FP3, but were unlucky in the wet early stages of qualifying which saw both cars drop out in Q1, as a red flag for Rio Haryanto’s stricken Manor prevented them from improving their lap times. From 17th on the grid, Palmer worked his way up to 12th before gaining an extra position when he and Nico Hulkenberg pitted together, and a slow stop from Force India handed Palmer the position. Daniil Kvyat ahead received a five second time penalty which then promoted Palmer to the top ten after his final pit stop. However...
