Quintet retain grid spots amid 107 per cent rule

– Five drivers have been permitted to retain their grid positions due to "exceptional circumstances" following a lengthy investigation by Stewards at the Hungarian Grand Prix.Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, Nico Hülkenberg, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez all progressed through a chaotic Q1 session despite not setting a lap time within 107 per cent of the quickest time, set by Nico Rosberg.If a driver does not set a time within 107 per cent of the quickest lap in Q1, it is up to the Stewards to decide whether they are permitted to race.Because of this, it was considered whether those that did not set a time within 107 per cent in Q1 should have been demoted to the back...
