Crash brings early end to Hamilton's FP2
Lewis Hamilton's preparations for the Hungarian Grand Prix suffered a setback on Friday with a crash in the barriers in second free practice. The world champion had topped the morning session and had kicked off his afternoon running with the fastest lap at the time when he slid into the barriers at Turn 11. Hamilton appeared to get his left wheels on to the kerbs on the entry to the corner and, as his Mercedes snapped sideways, there was little he could do to prevent an impact. Despite being hard on the brakes, Hamilton slid sideways into the tyre barriers – with the incident bringing out the red flags.
