Mercedes dominate as Lewis Hamilton leads opening practice in Hungary
Lewis Hamilton led a Mercedes 1-2 in first practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix as the pair dominated the session with a more than 1.5 second gap to Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel in third. Hamilton's 1:21.347 was seven-tenths quicker than last year's pole position time, with the resurfaced track delivering quicker times already. Expect them to tumble much further come qualifying on Saturday. Team-mate Nico Rosberg - who has just signed a new Mercedes contract - was two-tenths adrift of Hamilton in second, with the two Ferraris emerging 'best of the rest' behind.
