Rosberg signs new Mercedes contract through 2018

 XPB Images Mercedes has confirmed that current Formula One points leader Nico Rosberg has signed a new two-year contract for the team, and will partner Lewis Hamilton until 2018. With Rosberg’s previous deal expiring at the end of the current campaign, there had been some speculation around the German’s future with the reigning Constructors’ world champions, especially in the wake of recent clashes with his team-mate on track. However, staying at Mercedes has always been the most likely option. Rosberg joined Mercedes in 2010 from Williams, as the German manufacturer returned to F1 with a fully-fledged works outfit.
