Sensors installed in Hungary kerbs to monitor track limits

The FIA has confirmed that it will use electronic sensors installed on the outside of the kerbs at certain corners around the Hungaroring this weekend in a bid to catch anyone gaining an unfair advantage by running wide. The track limits argument has grown recently with several drivers in Austria using an excessive amount of kerb - often with all four wheels over the white line - which resulted in several incidents including suspension failure due to their height. In a bid to stop that happening, track limits were strictly enforced at the British Grand Prix, with running wide at certain corners penalised with deleted times.
