Mazepin hopes Silverstone test showing proved potential

Force India development driver Nikita Mazepin says he hopes his performances during Silverstone testing show he can be entrusted with further outings. The 17-year-old European Formula 3 regular signed with the Silverstone-based squad earlier this year, and got his first taste of F1 machinery in the two-day post-British Grand Prix test. Mazepin ended fifth and fourth respectively in the two days of testing, setting a best time of 1m31.561s on supersoft tyres - beating Nico Hulkenberg's Q3 time of 1m32.172s from the race weekend.
