Ocon sets pace on Day 2 at Silverstone

Mercedes development driver, Esteban Ocon, who is also test and reserve with Renault, topped the timesheets at lunchtime on the final day of the second in-season test. Setting the early pace, the Frenchman subsequently lost out to Jolyon Palmer and Kimi Raikkonen but retook the top spot once he switched to the soft tyres. Whilst Raikkonen consolidated second place, Palmer was eventually leapfrogged by Red Bull's Pierre Gasly. Taking over the McLaren MP4-31 from yesterday's pace-setter, Fernando Alonso, Stoffel Vandoorne is currently fifth quickest.
