Mercedes withdraw Rosberg appeal

Mercedes have decided to drop the appeal against the decision made to by British Grand Prix stewards to penalise Nico Rosberg for receiving instructions form the pitwall in the dying laps of the race. The ten second penalty received by Rosberg dropped him from second place to third place at the end of the race. The team released the following statement on their website: 'The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team today decided to withdraw its notice of intention to appeal against the decision of the Stewards of the British Grand Prix.'
