Mercedes submits appeal over Rosberg’s British GP penalty Mercedes has submitted an appeal with the FIA about the decision that saw Nico Rosberg received a 10 seconds penalty in British GP for a radio transmission regulation breach, and its resulted drop down to third behind Max Verstappen. Rosberg was slowed by a gearbox problem five laps from the end, and was helped by his race engineer to change a setting and avoid using seventh gear. Finally the German crossed the line 6.9 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton, with Red Bull's Dutch teenager Max Verstappen third, 1.3 seconds behind Rosberg.
