Sainz Jr. 'extremely happy' after STR turnaround

Red Bull/Getty Images Carlos Sainz Jr. expressed his happiness as he secured seventh position on the grid for the British Grand Prix. Sainz Jr. described Friday's practice sessions as the most difficult ones of the campaign for Toro Rosso but secured a place in Q3 in the STR11. Sainz Jr. was initially the slowest driver in Q3 but profited from Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso having their quickest lap times deleted due to exceeding track limits, and moves up from eighth to seventh due to Sebastian Vettel's gearbox penalty.
