Hamilton claims home pole in Silverstone

Lewis Hamilton has claimed pole position at Silverstone for the second consecutive year, after he edged out Nico Rosberg despite his first lap being deleted for exceeding track limits. Red Bull easily reserved the second row, with Ricciardo being out-qualified for the first time this season by on-fire Max Verstappen, and the duo lined up in third and fourth. Story of the session  With all the drivers heading out on the fastest soft-compound tyre, Nico Rosberg set the first marker with a 1.30.724, and had a narrow 0.015 advantage over his team-mate.
