Ferrari's Halo 2 makes Silverstone reappearance

Ferrari has given its so-called 'Halo 2' cockpit protection device a second track appearance during first free practice for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The controversial device was first revealed back in March during pre-season testing and has undergone a series of revisions in design and construction as the FIA evaluations whether it could be introduced for 2017. Completing just a single installation lap attached to the Ferrari with Sebastian Vettel at the wheel, the sleeker 'Halo 2' was supposed to appear in FP1 at the Austrian Grand Prix but technical issues for Vettel's SF16-T forced the run to be aborted.
