Ferrari run revised Halo 2 during British GP first practice

Ferrari have debuted their revised Halo 2 device during first practice for the British Grand Prix, after plans to run it during FP1 in Austria fell through due to safety concerns elsewhere, namely with the new kerbs. The new and improved device, dubbed the 'Halo 2', features a thinner centre column, a larger opening to ensure a drivers helmet doesn't come into contact during a crash and is much lighter than that tested pre-season. The device was originally designed by Mercedes, with the FIA and Ferrari developing it further and is now the preferred head protection device, with a likely introduction for 2017.
