Bite-size tech: Williams FW38 rear wing endplate

Although not strictly new, the detail noted in the image above is something we haven’t covered before. At the base of the new wing introduced by Williams in Baku we find some of the finer details that help to improve the aerodynamic connection between it and the diffuser. Highlighted in green it is made clear that the small slot that once occupied the lower leg of the endplate is dramatically increased in height, aligning with the rear strakes. Whilst another curved slot is now also employed in front of that one to coerce the airflow in the desired direction.
