Vettel gets five-place grid penalty for new gearbox

Scuderia Ferrari Sebastian Vettel has been handed a five-place grid penalty for this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix after Ferrari elected to fit a new gearbox to his SF16-H. Under Formula 1 regulations drivers must use the same gearbox for six straight races and as Vettel finished the most recent race in Baku, he has been handed a penalty. Vettel will therefore drop five places on the grid from wherever he qualifies at the Red Bull Ring. It is the second time in 2016 that Vettel has been handed the sanction after Ferrari had to undertake the same procedure in Russia.
