Sainz: Ferrari rumours no bad thing
Carlos Sainz says he enjoyed the speculation that had linked him to Ferrari in recent weeks – but believes his future is well set at Toro Rosso and Red Bull. The Spaniard has had an impressive campaign, and a recent run of strong form – allied to some disappointments for Kimi Raikkonen – helped him emerge as a candidate to move to Maranello in 2017. In a bid to stop that happening, Red Bull this week took up the option it had on Sainz's contract that means he will be committed to Toro Rosso for 2017. For Sainz, the situation surrounding Ferrari was nothing to be unhappy about and he sees no downside to Red Bull proving how much it wants him by making an early decision to re-sign him....
