Charles Leclerc to get FP1 outings with Haas

Ferrari Young Academy driver Charles Leclerc will be driving for Haas in FP1 at five races in 2016. The eighteen-year-old will fill in for Esteban Gutierrez at the British, Hungarian, German, Malaysian and Abu Dhabi rounds of the championship. “This is a fantastic opportunity to get seat time in a Formula One car and I can’t thank Haas F1 Team and Esteban enough,” Leclerc said, “I’m honoured by the faith Haas F1 Team and Ferrari have in me. This is an important step toward my ultimate goal of becoming a Formula One driver.” The Monegasque driver was runner up in Formula Renault 2.0 in 2014, before moving to European Formula 3 the following year where he took four wins.
