Ecclestone hints at Monza losing Italian GP
Bernie Ecclestone revealed Saturday that the Italian Grand Prix could be switched from its historic Monza home to Imola next year. The 85-year-old Briton, Formula One’s veteran commercial ring-master, said the final decision would lie with Italy’s national sporting authority. Monza’s contract with Ecclestone’s Formula One Management runs out at the end of this year and a deal to continue has not been agreed. Referring to the Automobile Club of Italy, he said: “We have spoken to them obviously. "We need to rely a little bit on the national sporting authority to support it so, if it doesn't happen in Monza, and they want to support Imola, then we are happy to go to Imola.”...
