Hectic, intense lap pays dividends for front row Ricciardo
Daniel Ricciardo says he is pleased to have 'bounced back' with a top three result in qualifying for the European Grand Prix, which will become a front row start in Azerbaijan. The Australian was the first driver to 'christen' the Baku walls during FP1 on Friday as Red Bull struggled to find form initially around the tricky street venue, but Ricciardo would star when it mattered as a last gasp effort in qualifying following the red flag period allowed him to land third on the timesheets. Setting exactly the same time as Sebastian Vettel but getting the nod as he recorded it first, with second place Sergio Perez set to be demoted with a grid penalty, Ricciardo will get away from the front...
