Whiting explains Baku kerb trouble

– Formula 1 Race Director Charlie Whiting has clarified the kerb problems at the all-new Baku City Circuit that caused cuts to tyres during Formula 1 practice and delayed GP2 qualifying.Shortly after GP2 cars emerged for the grid-deciding session, Race Control issued a red flag, with Whiting and track officials carrying out a full track inspection, focusing on the kerbs.F1 teams had reported multiple cuts to tyres after the first 90-minute session and, following the checks, Whiting confirmed loose bolts, which have since been welded down, were the cause."Some small bolts had come loose at the end of the kerbs on Turns Six and 12, so we've taken the bolts out and welded the kerbs...
