F1 called on to ban alcohol sponsorship

Following confirmation of Heineken's sponsorship deal with F1, Eurocare has called on the sport and the FIA to 'stop this deal' and move away from alcohol sponsorship. Last weekend in Montreal it was announced that Heineken had become F1's official beer partner, a deal that would see significant advertising at most tracks while the Dutch brewer would also become the title sponsor of three races per season. Eurocare, the European Alcohol Policy Alliance, has called for the deal, believed to be worth $250 million, to be stopped while also putting a halt to all alcohol sponsorship in the sport.
