Pascal Wehrlein: “We had picked up some damage to the floor”

Pascal Wehrlein was hindered from the start by a damaged floor but was still able to keep one of the two Sauber drivers behind him during the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Manor Racing driver had made a good start to jump ahead of the Renault of Jolyon Palmer and to stay ahead of both Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, but was losing lap time due to his damaged car, which ultimately saw Ericsson finish ahead of him. Wehrlein was disappointed not to have been able to retain track position ahead of Ericsson, but is looking forward to the European Grand Prix next weekend in Baku in order to be able to show just how much his Manor team have improved.
