Canadian GP: Hamilton takes pole in Montreal

Lewis Hamilton will start the Canadian Grand Prix from pole position, his fourth of the season, ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton lapped the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 1m12.812s for his fifth F1 pole at the track, 0.062s faster than Rosberg. Vettel made a huge improvement on his second run to get to within 0.178s of the Mercedes pace, and will start ahead of the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.  Story of Q3 shootout Hamilton had an odd moment at the start of the session as he clattered the kerbs on his warm-up lap.
