Verstappen earns reprimand for impeding Bottas

Max Verstappen has escaped with a reprimand after an impeding incident in first Friday practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. It is the first such penalty of the season for the Dutchman. The stewards found Verstappen guilty of impeding Valtteri Bottas, noting that "the driver slowed unnecessarily in front of car 77". The incident occurred at the final corner when Verstappen appeared to slow to make a gap before starting his lap, while Bottas was on a flier. The Williams driver had to cut across the chicane.
