Hamilton fastest; Massa brings out the red flags – FP1 Report
Canadian Grand Prix – Lewis Hamilton has gone quickest for Mercedes in what was a truncated first practice session in Montreal, due to a crash for Felipe Massa. Click here for the complete results from FP1. The session was a pretty quiet one for most of the opening hour, with a few periods where there were no cars on track. This was also partly due to a hefty crash for Felipe Massa. The Williams driver lost control of his car into the first turn, losing the rear of the car under braking. He radioed in to say he felt something had gone wrong with his DRS and an investigation from the team revealed that the DRS had failed to re-engage properly, resulting in Massa's loss of control.
