2017 Pirelli tyres to bring ‘sense of power’ to Formula 1

The new look 2017 Pirelli tyres will give Formula 1 once more a sense of power, according to Pirelli chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera. The new rear tyres are 80mm wider than the tyres currently being used, and their appearance represent a return to a bygone era in the 1980s and 1990s when wider tyres were used within the sport, while the front tyres will also increase in size by 60mm. The tyres are expected to improve lap times significantly, and Provera is looking forward to seeing them on a car for the first time after impressive results in the wind tunnel. 'They look powerful.
