Maldonado eyeing IndyCar, WEC and DTM as ‘Plan B'

F1 News: Pastor Maldonado admits in addition to his efforts to return to Formula 1, he is keeping possible race opportunities open – such as IndyCar, WEC and DTM as a backup plan. The former Williams and Lotus driver unexpectedly lost his race opportunity with Renault over the winter break after a lack of funding by his title sponsor PDVSA meant the Venezuelan was dropped out of the picture, and Kevin Magnussen was promoted to the race seat along-side Jolyon Palmer. Maldonado remains hopeful for a Formula 1 opportunity in 2017, and is yet to reveal to the media the teams he is speaking to – and IndyCar, DTM or WEC all remain as a backup plan, with Maldonado's priority being...
