Maldonado "working hard" on return to F1 in 2017
Pastor Maldonado says he is still only thinking about a return to Formula 1 in 2017, despite having plenty of options to race in other categories. The 2012 Spanish Grand Prix winner was dropped by Renault over the winter following sponsorship issues with long-time backer PDVSA. Although he says there are 'options' elsewhere in racing, he says his focus is on finding a way back to grand prix racing for the start of next year. "I am looking around, working very hard and hopefully we can sort something in F1," he told Motorsport.com over the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. "I'm open – open to good things.
