Pirelli announces tyre compound nominations for Singapore Grand Prix

Formula 1’s tyre supplier Pirelli has announced the compounds it has nominated for September’s Singapore Grand Prix. 2016 regulation changes mean nominations for fly-away rounds have to be made 14 weeks in advance, compared to the eight-week deadline for European races. Singapore’s Marina Bay Street Circuit will see the new purple-marked ultra-soft, the super-soft and soft compounds used over the race weekend. The mandatory tyres available for the race are one set of softs and one set of super-softs. The ultra-soft tyre has been assigned for qualifying. One set must be saved by each driver for Q3 of the softest nominated tyre. This will then be given back to Pirelli after...
