Haas goes entirely ultra for Canada

In a bold move, Haas has opted to forgo the red-banded supersoft tyre at the forthcoming Canadian Grand Prix, and along with 3 sets of softs will take 10 sets of the new purple-banded ultrasoft. Renault is also giving the supersofts a miss, instead taking 5 sets of the soft and 8 sets of ultras. Elsewhere, Mercedes, which put the ultrasofts to good use in Monaco at the weekend, Lewis Hamilton taking victory on the purple-banded rubber, is taking 8 sets to Montreal and 2 sets of supersofts. Ferrari and Red Bull have adopted a similar strategy to Mercedes, though taking one set of ultrasofts less than the German team.
