Tyres the thorn in McLaren's side this weekend

Monaco Grand Prix – McLaren were optimistic of a good result in Monte Carlo but, so far, the team have struggled for top ten pace and say that tyres are proving problematic. Fernando Alonso may have made it into Q3 for only the second time as a McLaren-Honda driver on Saturday,finishing P9, but the Spaniard admitted to mixed feelings as he and McLaren had been bullish about fighting behind the Red Bulls & Mercedes drivers this weekend. 'I'm happy to be in Q3, we'll be trying to score points again tomorrow from a good position but, at the same time, we were expecting more.' he said.
