Hamilton tops, FP1 stopped prematurely due to loose manhole cover Lewis Hamilton fastest ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in an incident-packed first free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix which was stopped prematurely due to a loose manhole cover. The Mercedes duo was the first cars to drive the Monaco circuit with new purple-marked ultra-soft compound.
