Ricciardo gets upgraded Renault engine for Monaco

Red Bull has decided to give its sole upgraded Renault power unit for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix to Daniel Ricciardo. The upgraded engine, first trialled last week in post-race testing at Barcelona and estimated to be potentially worth up to half a second per lap, had originally been planned to be introduced in Canada. However, Renault decided it would be worth pushing forward its debut to Monaco, even though this would mean only two of the new units would be available - one for Red Bull and one for the works team. Red Bull has now confirmed that Ricciardo will be given the power boost for this weekend, leaving teammate Max Verstappen facing a performance deficit around the streets...
