Vandoorne: More downforce to the MP4-31
McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne has revealed that Honda have added more downforce to their MP4-31 power unit from the car he drove at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Vandoorne got the call up to McLaren after Fernando Alonso injured himself at the Australian Grand Prix and was deemed unfit to race in Bahrain, but was relieved from his duties for the next race in Shanghai once the Spaniard returned. During the first session of the final testing day in Barcelona, the young Belgian claimed that the upgrades McLaren brought has definitely improved the car and added that it didn’t take him too long to get used to racing a F1 car once again.
