Magnussen drops position after Palmer contact penalty

Renault Sport F1 Kevin Magnussen was handed a 10 second time penalty and two points on his license following last lap contact with Renault team-mate Jolyon Palmer in Spain. Stewards deemed that Magnussen was culpable for edging Palmer wide at Turn 13 and went on to classify in 14th place. The sanction dropped Magnussen to 15th spot, behind Sauber's Felipe Nasr. "We had decent pace on the Soft tyre but on the Hard and the Medium – especially the Medium – we were weak," he said.
