Sainz reprimanded but keeps “amazing result” in Spain
Spanish Grand Prix – Carlos Sainz has been given a reprimand for leaving the pit lane before being given the green light for the reconnaissance laps before the race. The Spaniard maintains his sixth place finish. “What a fantastic race!” he said, “We finally put a whole weekend together – we had a productive Friday, were fast in Quali and had good pace in the race today – and I’m a very happy man! P6 is an amazing result for me and the team, and to achieve this at my home race makes it even better.” Sainz went from eighth on the grid to third at the end of lap one ahead of both Ferraris, partially thanks to the collision of the two Mercedes ahead. “The start to the race...
