Rosberg 'surprised' by Hamilton approach

Mercedes AMG Petronas Nico Rosberg claims he was "surprised" that Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton attempted an overtake on the approach to Turn 4, which ended with both drivers retiring from the race. Rosberg snatched the lead from Hamilton around the outside of Turn 1 but was not in the correct engine mode through Turn 3, enabling the Briton to carry greater speed through the corner. Hamilton ducked to the inside on the run to Turn 4 but Rosberg defended, with the chain of events resulting in Hamilton sliding across the grass, collecting Rosberg, and sending both into the gravel.
