Rosberg moves ahead in second Spain session

Mercedes AMG Petronas Championship leader Nico Rosberg moved clear during the second practice session for this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Rosberg clocked a time of 1:23.922 on the Soft tyres to finish 0.254s faster than Ferrari rival Kimi Räikkönen, whose programme was briefly interrupted by a fuel system issue. Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton was third after a scruffy lap on the Soft tyres, with Sebastian Vettel in fourth position. Spain’s representatives on the grid enjoyed a promising session with Carlos Sainz Jr. in fifth and Fernando Alonso seventh, split by Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.
