Verstappen: F1 debut bigger risk than Red Bull switch

Max Verstappen feels Red Bull took a larger gamble handing him his Formula 1 debut last year than his promotion into the top team at the expense of Daniil Kvyat. The Dutch teenager grabbed the headlines before even turning a wheel in F1 when he landed a race seat with Toro Rosso last season and broke the record of the youngest driver to start an F1 Grand Prix at 17 years and 166 days. Verstappen, who fully validated Red Bull's decision with an impressive rookie campaign which brought a series of personal accolades, has been switched up to the Red Bull squad with Daniil Kvyat heading in the opposite direction to Toro Rosso just four races into the year.
