Pirelli announce British Grand Prix compounds

British Grand Prix – Pirelli have announced that they will be bringing the soft, medium and hard tyres to Silverstone for this year’s British Grand Prix. Drivers must use at least one set of either the orange-marked hard tyre or the white-marked medium during the race, with the soft tyre being saved for Q3 on Saturday. Teams will have to submit their nominations for how many sets of each compound they want eight weeks before the event on July 10. Silverstone is a front-limited circuit as it contains a number of high speed corners, meaning tyre wear is considerably greater than most other circuits on the calendar, which is why Pirelli will be bringing their three hardest compounds to...
