Pirelli tests new tyres at Fiorano
Pirelli have begun testing for their 2017 tyres on Ferrari’s 2014 F14-T in the hands of Jean-Eric Vergne around Fiorano on Tuesday. 2016-size tyres with 2017 prototype elements were put on track, with 2017-size tyres to be tested in the near future. Another tyre test is expected to be conducted in Barcelona following the Spanish Grand Prix. 2017 will see the introduction of larger rear tyres, resembling those seen in Formula One in the 1970s, after a call for more aggressive looking cars and more mechanical grip in a bid to make the cars faster.
